One of Animal Kingdom’s most beautiful nighttime experiences is making its return, and we have the first week of showtimes.

There’s something especially magical about Disney’s Animal Kingdom after dark. The pathways grow quieter, the atmosphere changes, and the park’s most recognizable landmark becomes the star of a show all its own.

Beginning November 1, 2026, Tree of Life Awakenings will once again illuminate the park's iconic centerpiece, bringing its intricate animal carvings to life through colorful projections, music, and storytelling.

And if you’ve never experienced it, this is one nighttime show worth sticking around for.

Additional dates beyond November 7th have not yet appeared on Disney's entertainment calendar, so it's worth checking for updates as your visit approaches.

A Little Magic After Dark

During the day, the Tree of Life is already an impressive sight. Standing 145 feet tall and covered in hundreds of intricately carved animals, it's one of the most recognizable symbols of Walt Disney World.

But nighttime brings an entirely different kind of magic.

As the show begins, flickering fireflies appear among the branches, and the animals carved into the massive trunk seem to awaken. Through stunning projection effects, the tree becomes a canvas for a series of charming stories inspired by nature.

You might see a young deer embarking on an adventure, hummingbirds discovering love, or a fox sharing gifts in a snowy woodland scene.

Each sequence transforms the tree into something unexpected, with vivid colors, movement, and music that make it easy to forget you're watching projections on a giant artificial tree.

And unlike some of Disney's larger nighttime spectaculars, this one feels a little more intimate. There's no need to stake out a viewing spot an hour in advance or navigate a sea of guests to enjoy the experience.

No Need to Race for a Showtime

One of the best things about Tree of Life Awakenings is how easy it is to fit into your evening.

Rather than one large performance at a designated time, the animated sequences typically repeat approximately every 10 minutes throughout the scheduled window.

That means you can enjoy a leisurely walk through Discovery Island, stop for a few minutes, and watch the tree come alive.

It's a lovely way to end a day at Animal Kingdom, especially if you've spent most of your visit rushing between attractions, animal trails, and your next snack.

A Holiday Tradition Worth Revisiting

Over the years, Disney has occasionally introduced special versions of Tree of Life Awakenings, giving returning guests something new to discover.

In December 2024, for example, a limited-time sequence inspired by Mufasa: The Lion King joined the nighttime offerings.

Disney has not announced a special themed edition for this November's return, but the original sequences are more than enough reason to linger in Discovery Island after sunset.

Our advice? Don't rush for the exit.

Animal Kingdom has a completely different personality in the evening, and watching the Tree of Life glow against the night sky is one of those quieter Disney moments that deserves a place on your must-do list.

Sometimes the best way to end a park day isn't with one more ride. It's simply standing beneath a beautiful tree and watching a little magic unfold.
